Mxr Pedals

When exploring mxr pedals, it's essential to consider various aspects and implications. An honest review of the new MXR bass synth effects pedal MB301.... I was at first thrilled by the MXR but soon realized that I don't really want to create a 'foreign' sound using my bass and fx pedals. So I will use the money I would have spent on the MXR towards a Crumar Mojopedals to go with the Toro, and let the bass do bass and the synths do synth. In relation to this, boss, MXR or Electro Harmonix - which one is best.

Phaser - MXR Phase 90, but I'm more partial to the Retro Sonic Phaser or Maxon PT-999, both of which are modified circuits of the Phase 90 and, IMO, better. Flanger - I had a DOD FX72 that (again, IMO) gave the best flanger sound, but like everyone else has said the Boss BF-2 is really solid as well. Similarly, mXR M288 Bass Octave Deluxe vs MXR M280 Vintage Bass Octave - TalkBass.com. They really are very similar pedals.

The "Growl" knob on the Bass Octave Deluxe is MXR's take in the OC-2 sound. This perspective suggests that, the "Girth" knob is a bigger and fatter Octave down tone with less definition. The Vintage Bass Octave is a bit closer to the old OC-2 sound (neither MXR pedal nails it IMO) and it tracks slightly better IMO, especially for faster staccato playing. Both are "analog" Octave down ...

So the entire lineup of MXR pedals sound edgier? And the entire lineup of Boss sound fuller? I highly suggest dropping that terrible generalization. MXR M81 - Yes please and thank you - TalkBass.com.

MXR has been knocking bass pedals out of the park in recent years. I wholeheartedly agree and think MXR pedals hold their own quite impressively against the boutique brands. I've always found their pedals to be solid performers and very reliable - my band mates have had similar experiences with MXR products. MXR M81, worth the money?

MXR M81 is very transparent and it does not add noise to your signal IME. If you need a clean DI, it does it very well. I use it right after my high-pass filter to send a clean DI signal when needed, and to match the levels of my basses as it has a pre and a post gain knob.

Then I got all the other pedals in line ending with Sansamp BDDI for some amp flavor. MXR Phase 90 - true bypass? If you want a True Bypass Phase 90, get the Whirlwind orange box phaser.

Better by far than any of the MXR pedals, and much closer to the original, but true bypass. Building on this, script clones sound too subtle for me - all the boutiques are going after the original script tone, but I prefer the block version.
